HOW DO I APPLY FOR A JOB IN MENTAL HEALTH OR
DRUG & ALCOHOL?

The CMSU Mental Health Program is a county-funded program who hires staff strictly through the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission. Apply for Civil Service Testing on-line at www.scsc.state.pa.us. (If interested in working for CMSU Mental Health, be sure to mark yourself eligible for employment in ALL FOUR counties (Columbia, Montour, Snyder and Union). If the position you are looking for does not require a test, please contact CMSU Human Resources at (570) 275-5422.

After applying for Civil Service Testing, await confirmation that you qualify and are eligible to take the test. Testing will occur in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Once completed, your results will be mailed to your home address.

After you have taken the test and passed, your name will appear on the new hire eligibility list for the specific job title(s) that you tested for. You may check your eligibility and score by accessing the Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission website. Upon notification from the Civil Service Commission that you have passed the test and have received your scoring results, please send a resume and letter of interest to: Human Resources, CMSU, PO Box 219, Danville, PA 17821.

When a position becomes available that you are eligible for, you will receive an eligibility waiver in the mail or a telephone call requesting an interview. If you receive a waiver, follow the instructions as indicated, return the requested copies and an interview will be scheduled.
