What is a comprehensive driving under the influence (DUI) FULL Assessment
A comprehensive DUI Full Assessment is a formal process that uses standardized and comprehensive instruments to explore individual issues in-depth. It evaluates not only the presence of a substance use disorder, but also its’ extent and severity.
The results of the Court Reporting Network (CRN) Evaluation typically determine whether a Comprehensive DUI Full Assessment is required to be completed, although this does vary from county-to-county.
It is also statutorily (75 Pa.C.S.§3814(2)(i) (A), (B); (ii) (A), (B)). manded that a comprehensive drug and alcohol assessment be completed if any of the following apply:
the defendant’s blood alcohol content (BAC) for the underlying offense is 0.16 percent or greater;
DUI is Drug-Related;
DUI Offender is a Minor;
DUI with Refusal;
the defendant, within the past ten years prior to the offense for which the sentence is being imposed had been sentenced for a DUI under current or prior law or an equivalent offense in another jurisdiction; or, the CRN evaluation indicates a need for counseling or treatment.
